Via
Via Brava B - Barn name “Via” is a 16 year old Czech warmblood who came to us from Tucson in December 2022. Prior to her new career as an equestrian vaulting horse, Via was an FEI level show jumper. She has quite the show record and has won several jumping competitions. We are very lucky to have her here! Via is a quick learner and has settled into her role as our main vaulting horse with ease. Via stands at about 17 hands, but don’t let her size fool you! She is sweet as can be! She is a sucker for sugar cubes and carrots, so watch your pockets near her, she will search you for treats until she finds them!
Luna
Luna is a 20 year old Percheron/Mustang PMU rescue from Canada. PMU stands for “pregnant mare’s urine” which is used to create the drug Premarin. Luna was adopted by Jarred from California in 2013 and has been with him ever since. Prior to her life as an equestrian vaulting horse, Luna was a hunter jumper horse. Luna stands at about 15.2 hands and is our lower level beginner vaulting horse. Luna is the sweetest horse you’ll find here at SRV. You only need to give her a carrot or some good scratches on her belly or chest, and she’ll love you for life!
Facetime
Facetime is a 7 year old Oldenburg horse who was brought to Arizona from Maryland in 2020. Prior to coming to us at SRV, Facetime was training for dressage in Maryland. As he was still quite young, his training was not very extensive. He stands at 18 hands tall (over 6 feet at his shoulders)! But once again, don’t let his size fool you! He is a gentle giant. He is currently undergoing dressage and strength training to prepare him to eventually be our main high level vaulting horse here at SRV.
Jewel
Promises Golden Jewel - Barn name “Jewel” is a 10 year old Gypsy Vanner. Jewel is our therapeutic vaulting horse and resident couch potato. Jewel stands at about 15.2 hands tall and is much happier watching other horses do all the work while receiving pets and loves from the kids. Jewel is currently pregnant, due June 2023 and is enjoying not having to work at all! While Jewel can be quite the grouch at times (especially now since she’s pregnant), she loves and prefers being around people and will happily sit with you and listen to your day.
Sol
Sol Invictus - Barn name “Sol” is an 8 year old Percheron/Friesian cross. Fun fact, he was born in our backyard! He is by Sjoerd, out of Luna, which means that Luna is Sol’s mom, and Sjoerd is his dad! Sjoerd is also Breyer Horse #1859. Sol stands at about 16 hands tall and is currently undergoing dressage and groundwork training. While he may not be a vaulting horse, he is still part of the SRV family. Sol is the attention hog of our herd. He loves attention and will make sure you know he exists!
Stella
Stanislava PVF - Barn name “Stella” is a Hanoverian yearling who came to us from North Carolina in December 2022. While not technically part of SRV as she will not be used in our vaulting program in the future, she is still part of the barn family. Stella is currently just living life as a baby, with no plans for her any time soon. She will eventually be a high level dressage horse for our head coach, Kadriya. Despite her young age, Stella is a very in-your-pocket type horse and will follow you around like a puppy!
